Movement Medicine Online Community Dance

January 5 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating indefinitely

A warm invitation to join our online community dance from the comfort of your own home. These times call for creative shapeshifting and opportunities to move and give expression to what is alive within. So we would absolutely love you to join our online sanctuary, as we give ourselves to the transformative power of the dance to release and replenish, gather resources and rebalance the system while offering our embodied prayer to the heart of the world. Staying connected in community while dancing deeply feels like good medicine right now. Hope you can join us.
“Beautiful, transformative – expertly and sensitively held by Mira. High quality on every level – a safe, expansive, empowering and healing space. SO grateful.” – Lydia

TESTIMONIALS
“Such a profound experience. This is just what our world needs right now. Thank you Mira for providing this opportunity and helping to change the world one heart at a time.” – Alla
“The dance ceremony was exceptional! The fact that it was online didn’t stand in the way of feeling deeply connected to the other dancers. Mira’s guidance was incredibly healing, elevating and inspiring. I have been dancing with Mira for over three years now and her mastery is always deepening and blossoming. I am so grateful for these spaces.” — Bristena
“It is such a joy to be dancing in your space. I love how Movement Medicine is way I can journey to all the most magnificent landscapes through the body, when we are locked down and cannot travel and access them. So much gratitude.” – Nikki
“Thank you so much for your work. It really has been hugely supportive as we have surfed the wave of these turbulent times. With your gentle guidance I am able to sink deeper into my own body and experience its innate wisdom through the dance and express the things that words cannot.” – Rosanna
“It totally blew my mind. Was incredible. I haven’t felt so wonderfully in my own body in a very long time. I can’t recommend it highly enough” – Kate
ABOUT MOVEMENT MEDICINE
Movement Medicine is an immersive dance meditation, held with captivating music and clear guidance. It is a weaving of both ancient wisdom and modern thinking such as Shamanism, 5Rhythms, Gestalt Psychotherapy and Constellation work. In a polarised culture where so much of our wounding comes from disconnection, Movement Medicine offers the opportunity for reconnection. It connects us to our elemental nature, to our bodies, hearts and minds, to each other and to the intelligence of life. Our movement becomes the medicine that opens the door to insight, new possibilities and the transformative power of the dance. The dance becomes an embodied prayer – for ourselves, each other and the interconnected community of life on earth.
YOUR FACILITATOR
Mira Khanya is a UK based Movement Medicine teacher. Growing up in South Africa, she brings with her a deep connection to the aliveness of nature and the beat of the drum. From an early age creativity was central in Mira’s life. Today the rich tapestry of her experience as a dancer, therapist and artist is woven into her work. Her love of ceremony, the depth of meditation and shamanic practices, and the inspiration of her drama, physical theatre, butoh and coaching trainings – are all rooted in her offering. For her it’s a great honour and joy to create spaces where we can unite in dance, gather resources, deepen connection and experience the power of embodied transformation – individually and collectively.
